Introducing our 2014-2015 Season

Dear Friends:

The 2014-15 Season is the 20th Anniversary of the Etobicoke Community Concert Band and we want to celebrate it with you, our loyal audience. On November 7th we will start the season with “Swingin’ to the Future” with special guests, the “Toronto All-Star Big Band” as we remember the fabulous Big Band era. Hear the music of the great Bands such as In the Mood, Sing, Sing, Sing plus Latin hits from Tito Puente and Perez Prado.

“Ye Merry Olde Christmas Tyme” scheduled for December 19th will get you into the spirit as Donna Cansfield reads “Twas the Night Before Christmas”. The Band will debut “Christmas Eve in Sarajevo” by the Trans Siberian Orchestra.

Our 20th Gala Anniversary Concert on March 27th will feature jazz musician Jake Koffman as he plays a tribute to his late Grandfather, Canada’s own Moe Koffman of “Swinging Shepherd Blues” fame. The Band will celebrate its past musical history by playing tunes that have been audience favourites.

The final concert of the series on May 29th will highlight some of the Etobicoke winners of the Kiwanis Music Festival. We will conclude the year with a musical tour of our great country. From the Band’s humble beginning in 1994, it has grown in member numbers and musical quality under the baton of John Edward Liddle who has been with the Band from the first day. We could not have accomplished our success without the support of our great audience members.
